Mitt Romney is said by McCain campaign insiders the be the current #1 pick for Vice President. Mitt Romney has the fund raising power to raise McCain vast sums of money for the general election. Some estimates are that he could raise $50-60 million dollars in the 60 days between the Republican convention and the November election.

Other reasons for John McCain picking Mitt Romney include the fact that he has already been full vetted by the media and is squeaky clean, he has a strong presidential image and can be trusted to stay on message, and his family background in the mid-west can draw in states like Michigan which have gone to Democrats in the last few elections.

Furthermore, McCain has made it clear that he is looking for a running mate who can actually govern rather than just increase votes. Mitt Romney has already shown that he has the experience to govern and the people skills to push forward a conservative agenda when faced with a liberal legislature. This would be a big help for McCain, who has been accused of running across the aisle to support Democrat causes. A running mate like Romney would signal that McCain is interested in getting a conservative agenda passed rather than a Democrat-lite agenda.

The other name being bandied about is Joe Lieberman. The problem that Lieberman draws Democrats in but it pushes Republicans and conservatives away. Lieberman has been supportive of the war, but he has been fairly liberal on most other issues.  Consider the Climate Stewardship Bill that he co-sponsored with John McCain. Or the gun control bill that he sponsored with, that’s right, John McCain.

Mitt Romney is a good solid conservative. With the exception of his support of the current Middle East policy, which is more motivated by religious identity than by ideology, Joe Lieberman has proven to be a big spending,  big government liberal. If these are the two best choices then the choice is clear.

In preparation for a report on the surge of Taliban activity in Pakistan, ABC News was granted an exclusive interview with the #2 guy in the Taliban. Rather than show up at the interview with a division of the U.S. Marines, they showed up with a camera crew. This is the guy responsible for organizing the people who are killing American soldiers in Afghanistan. The liberals at ABC News are all about how concerned they are for the safety of our soldiers, that is why their broadcasts keep hammering the fact that we need to bring our troops home. Yet, when given the chance to cut off the head of the snake, they instead decided to help the snake hide and poison the minds of the American people.

This is just the latest example of how the American media has become decidedly anti-American. Consider how CNN once admitted that they helped cover up the tyranny of Saddam Hussein  so they could keep their Iraq office open. And don’t forget that they also refused to allow their reporters to be interviewed by military intelligence because “our duty is to the world.” ABC News has once again established that the media’s attitude is the idea that the country that gives them their freedom to say what they want, is the country that needs to be torn down and destroyed.

Democrats in congress have continued to fail the American people. In 2006 when gas prices were $3.03 a gallon, the Democrats promised ” a common sense solution the gas prices.” Yet the only thing that they have done is to sit on their hands and try and find a scapegoat. They have held hearing after hearing which has produced no results while the candidate for change, Barack H. Obama, has said that the biggest problem with the current gas prices is that they rose so quickly.

Now the Democrats are blaming the Republicans for not getting anything done. On the floor of the Senate Harry Reid has been holding up a sign every day ticking off the Republican filibusters to date. In the last two years there have been 79 Republican filibusters. Imagine if the Republicans had done this in 2004, the Democrats would have had a fit.  In 2005 “Ditsy” Harry said “using the filibuster is the way we ensure that the majority never overran the minority.” He later called the filibuster “the last protection for checks and balances in our current administration.”

Today, Harry Reid feels different about this issue. This is his current position on filibuster: “They are denying us an up or down — yes or no — vote on the most important issue our country faces. I would like to inform the Republican leadership and all my colleagues that we have no intention of backing down.” So now filibuster is a bad thing.

While accusing the Republicans of preventing congress from being able to work on important issues, he has been able to get some work done. He has managed to get $600 million dollars in pork barrel spending passed, triple what pork barrel spending was this time last year. He has also managed to block efforts to open up proven oil reserves to help reduce demand and drive down gas prices. So while Republicans continue to get the blame for not letting Democrats have their way, Harry Reid succeeds in not doing anything for America and not having to answer for it.

Today the Supreme Court delivered a stinging rebuke to liberals in the United States. Once more five conservative “extremists” stated that the Constitution is the law of the land and that liberals ignore it at their peril. This prompted CNN to ask, “is this a case of the Constitution trumping policy?”

The answer is yes it does. It does not matter that the Constitution overturns decades of policy, as the Violence Project succinctly put it, the rights contained therein are absolute with the exception of common sense restrictions. It is about time that the court stood up for the average citizen against criminals. They had a chance yesterday and they blew it. Today they have taken a big step towards redeeming themselves to the American people.

However, there are many on the left that are threatening to challenge this ruling. The question is where are they going to challenge to? The Supreme Court is the final arbiter of the law and the Constitution in our country. The only way the liberals could challenge the ruling by the Supreme Court would be to try and amend the Constitution. I doubt that there would be much support for this in the United States today.

The problem comes from the fact that liberals think that there is someone else they can appeal to. I don’t know if they think they can appeal to the United Nations or what, but there is a real problem when people don’t understand how our government works and what the Constitution says. Remember that liberals are pushing change this election season. It seems clear the change they want is the kind where the Constitution is irrelevant.

Every time liberals push a new program on the American people, every time they stick there hand in our pocket to take more money, we are told it’s for the children. Today, the Supreme Court had a chance to truly do something for the children and instead the liberals on the court decided to side with those who would destroy children. By ruling that the death penalty is not constitutional in the case of individuals who rape young children they have announced to criminals everywhere that children in America are fair game.

One justification for their decision was that no one dies in such a crime. That may be true at the time of the abuse but it has been documented that 40 to 50 % of all abuse victims either attempt or succeed in committing suicide as a result of their attack. Class action lawyers like John Edwards have made fortunes on such statistics suing companies over dangerous products. Clearly in liberal minds raping a child is less of a crime than making a medication that might cause problems for some people who take it.

Just as always, when given the chance liberals have proven that they would rather have compassion on criminals than on the victim of their crimes. Not to mention that these are the same liberals that keep telling us that the United States needs to be more like Europe. In Europe sex with children as young as ten is not only accepted but legal. Is that what liberals want for America?

Barack Obama has urged the Republican Party to stop their racist ads against him. The problem is that the Republicans haven’t run any ads against Obama so far. The true purpose of Obama’s statement is to create an image that Republicans are racist and any criticism of him is simply to be ignored.

Is this the type of change that we can expect from Obama’s campaign and his presidency? Can we expect that anyone who disagrees with Obama will be marginalized and declared unfit to serve or speak because of their “racism?” Or should we just make it illegal to disagree with the president like Democrats have done in the past?

Really this is just a ruse to cover up Obama’s own racist ties. Jeremiah Wright, his statements about asians, his wife’s prayer that “the white man will see the light,” and so forth have made him look bad on the race front. Meanwhile the Southern Christian Leadership Conference is now saying that Obama is not black enough because he does not  have slave blood. So who is actually playing the race card in reality.

I don’t know how many of you remember the “lost Amazon tribe” that came to light a few months back, but it turns out the whole thing was a hoax. In fact the tribe has been in contact with the outside world since 1910. The whole thing was done “to raise awareness” of the effects of global warming.

So now we know the truth. What does this tell us about the global warming movement? How many other thinks like this have they faked over the years to try and dupe us? Do you remember this one?

Turns out that this one was fake too. It was taken in the height of summer and the polar bears were ten feet from shore. It wouldn’t surprise me if the polar bears were trained and were being signaled to look at the camera.

All of this come as Algore and James Hansen testified in front of a congressional hearing on global warming. Hansen testified that we are on our last legs and if we don’t act within the next few years most of us will be dead. Democrats on the committee called him a prophet. Judging be the amount  of fake  “evidence” that there is out there, could it be that he’s a false  prophet?

Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who’s name has been thrown about as a possible running mate for John McCain, came out today and told Jewish groups that there is no reason to fear Obama and that they should give up partisan politics and get behind him. Bloomberg’s stated goal was to help stave off growing sense of fear  that has been growing in the Jewish community. However, what he was really doing was bolstering support for Obama in Florida, which most Democrats see as a must win state for them.

I hope that this makes everyone clear where Bloomberg’s loyalties stand. His goal is to get Barack H. Obama elected. If he was McCain’s vice-president then he would be working at cross purposes with his running mate. If he runs as an independent it will only be to syphon votes away from John McCain and get Obama elected. I sincerely hope that this incident makes John McCain realize that he needs to have a conservative as his running mate and not someone like Bloomberg. I also hope that this helps everyone realize that moderates are just liberals in disguise.

Barack Obama has not even been elected yet and he is already breaking campaign promises. He promised that he would opt in to the pubic campaign financing system, but has instead opted out of the system instead. This means that he will become beholden to lobbyists and special interest groups that he claims that Republicans are bowing to.

Obama said that he did this because John McCain will not reign in the “Republican attack machine,” but no such machine actually exists. The only “machine” that exists is the people of the United States speaking their mind. That is the reason that the freedom of speech exists, is so that we the people “have a right to debate and disagree,” to quote Hillary Clinton. When Democrats disagree with the president, dress him up as a Nazi, and compare our troops to Pol Pot and Joseph Stalin then dissent is the highest form of patriotism. When Republicans disagree with Barack H. Obama then dissent is an attack and we need to move beyond that kind of politics.

Does anyone really believe that, based on what we have seen so far, that we can expect President Obama to be anything but a nightmare? We are not allowed to discuss anything of any substance as it relates to Barack H. Obama or his policies. We are not supposed to examine his relationships or his statements. His actions and ideas are off-limits to scrutiny and we are not allowed to discuss his proposals or his methods. If we mention anything that he has said or done that does not present him in a positive light then we are guilty of creating “manufactured distractions.”

Hope and change are the wish of the American people. Barack Obama is the one who has managed to tap into the undercurrent that wants to feel good about ourself and our country. We can only hope that he doesn’t change the country into a shadow of it’s current greatness.

While claiming that he is out to change the face of politics, Barack Obama keeps blundering into minefields of his own creation. Sunday while talking with Jimmy Kimmel he said “obviously there are a lot of folks from Asian ancestry in Hawaii, generally the teams aren’t as tall.” It was intended to be a joke, but Sen. Obama would be the first to tell you that racism is no laughing matter. Or even true in this case, or has Barack never heard of Yao Ming.

This amazingly insensitive statement comes as Barack is trying to once again draw the focus of his campaign away from race. First there was the two separate incidents with two separate preachers that were close friends of Obama spewing anti-American, racist filth into the house of God. Then his campaign forced a company in Utah, run by Obama supporters, to shut down after they created the Barack Obama sock monkey. He is also trying to get one of his own delegates to resign after she called some kids climbing in her tree monkeys.

Meanwhile, despite these racist statements by Obama, and many more by his wife and followers, many still see Obama as the Messiah. “We thought racism was being healed with a viable candidate who happens to be African-American,” said Jennetta Williams of the NAACP, “But then to see him mocked with that kind of caricature is surprising . . . I just hope other people, not just African-Americans, would be as outraged by this.” This was in response to the Obama sock monkey. This from the same people who have done everything including dressed George W. Bush up in an SS uniform. This from the same people who have said nothing about Obama’s caricature of Asians and Hawaiians. Ladies and gentlemen, I submit that the P in NAACP stands for politics, not people.
